Job: Electrical Design Engineer



ESS Employment is recruiting for Electrical Design Engineer.


Responsibilities:

* Interpretation of customer specifications and requirements and from those requirements, creation of an internal working electrical specification

* From your internal working electrical specification, design and creation of electrical schematics using Autodesk AutoCad Electrical draughting software

* Creation of bills of materials to support your designs and electrical schematics

* Identification and sourcing of new components in support of your electrical systems

* To gain in depth knowledge of ATEX Directives and the use of electrical devices in hazardous area applications

* From a design perspective, assisting in the installation of vehicle hard wired systems

* In conjunction with our shop floor electrical team, provision of assistance with installation / testing and fault-finding activities

* To gain knowledge of commercial automotive wiring and control systems

* Development of new products and control systems in support of our vehicle manufacture

* Assistance with the creation of electrical data sheets and schematics to support our technical publications



Requirements:

* Must hold a recognised Electrical/Electronic qualification (minimum HNC) or preferably 2-years post graduate electronics degree.

* Certification of electrical installations

* Knowledge of Network technology (CANBUS , J1939 , EtherNet)

* High level of experience with PLC programming and software development (C, C++, embedded control systems)

* Knowledge of PLC programming using CoDeSys (IEC 61131, Alan Bradley/Siemens/lFM PLC systems) software, using CAN interface in support of our Fueltronic / IFM based vehicle control system

* An excellent communicator with the ability to confidently resolve issues. Personable with the ability to build strong relationships
